A recent article published discusses the impact of mediation on creativity. The article was published by cognitive psychologist Lorenza Colzato and Dominique Lippelt at Leiden University in a journal called Mindfulness. What I found to be very interesting in this study was two forms of meditation were used to see what created that spark for creativity. One was a focused meditation and the other form was more of an open form of meditation. What the study revealed was that the open form of meditation was more effective in sparking creativity.
